God's Word: Not just for information but also for transformation...
One thing that I've learned lately is that Scripture is not just for information but also for transformation of our minds and lives as we seek to glorify God with our lives. we need to meditate on Scripture, allow it to penetrate within us, and also allow the Holy Spirit to work in us. The Holy Spirit works in believers lives in four main ways: to teach, remind, convict, and to empower us. In the aspects of teaching and reminding, the Holy Spirit uses revelation, knowledge, and theology to remind us of what Jesus taught when he was physically here on earth. With the whole topic of conviction, the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins that we commit, which drives us to repentance. if we study Scripture purely just to gain information/knowledge and not allow God's Word to transform our hearts and minds through the power of the Holy Spirit then we are being exactly like the religious leaders of Jesus' day. (John 5:39-40)
